Dark Swamp Crusader guide

This should give you a base to work with. This is the best possible stat, skill, and equip build. You can customize it to your own budget.
Strategy Section
*Play style changes w/ different build (Berserker vs. Slasher)
*Play style changes w/ Manufactures
*Play style changes against other classes
*Play style changes w/ Rebirth skill, Ethereal Slash.
Pros on Strategy w/ Slasher build (210 aspd passive):
1. Get in, get out. Stealth-> Scout-> Run In-> Slash-> Run Back-> Stealth-> Repeat (Run to a safe distance, after kills, then stealth.)
2. High Dodge.
3. Passive 210 aspd, allowing for faster melee.
4. No need to berserk for 210 aspd.
5. Safer Play style.
Cons on Strategy w/ Slasher build (210 aspd passive):
1. Lower amount of STR compared to Berserker.
Pros on Strategy w/ Berserker build (Berserk from 171 aspd to 210 aspd):
1. Can achieve way higher STR compared to Slasher build.
2. More challenging to pk with, meaning it will only IMPROVE your pk/pvp skills.
Cons on Strategy w/ Berserker build (Berserk from 171 aspd to 210 aspd):
1. Non-passive 210 aspd, meaning you won't always slash w/ the 3rd multiplier (210 aspd).
2. Only 171 passive aspd, meaning slower melee for most times.
3. Strategy wise: Stealth->Scout->Run Back-> Berserk-> Run In-> Slash-> Run Back-> Stealth-> Repeat
or
Stealth-> Scout-> Run In-> Flash Bomb-> Berserk-> Slash-> Run-> Stealth->Repeat
4. Low Dodge
5. High risk play style, which I like to call "Kamikaze-ish".
Rebirthed DS crus strategy:
When a crusader rebirths, they receive the skill known as "Ethereal Slash". It is an AoE (Area of Effect) skill that reveals
multiple hidden enemies in it's AoE.
With this, comes a new play style:
Stealth-> Scout-> Run in-> Ethereal Slash-> Stealth-> Run back-> Scout-> Run in-> Slash->Run back-> Stealth->Repeat
May seem complicated when put into words, but Ethereal Slash is definitely a very useful skill for combat. It is to your advantage to be a Slasher w/ Ethereal Slash.
Key Goals:
1. Obtain as much Attack power as possible (STR)
2. Obtain either 171 ASPD to be a zerker or 210 aspd passive to be a slasher.
3. Obtain a FORK.
4. Avoid being 1 Slashed by other Crusaders.
Purpose of Fork:
Best Possible Stats:
If you're a maller you can pull off adding STR all the way
Your agi gems will determine whether you can be a slasher or a zerker crus. You need 171(170 is possible but often bugs) aspd to berserk to 210 aspd (w/ lv 5 berserk), which is about 35-40 or so agi w/ equips (DoEs). You need about 67 or so agility (w/DoEs) to obtain 210 passive aspd. This is all being calculated w/ MAX Bloodfrenzy.
Best Possible Equips:
Important:You want a barborossa's fork for sure w/ this build.
DoEs or Cardic steel sabers (7 str 7 agi 7 con)
Kylin robe/CA frame/Armor of Eva
Kylin gloves/55 Unseal Gauntlets/lv 50-55 gauntlets +7 str or 7 str 7 agi (any as long as it has 7 str)
Kylin Paws/CA paw
Dual lvl 50 agi rings
lv 50 ms neck
cap (+5 def)
Best Possible Gems:
Swords: Glares/Gem of Rage/BD eyes Substitutable Gems: Cracked Rages/Chipped Rages/Lust (Prefer Rages)
gloves: Locks hit/Lust/BD hearts
armor:Undeads/gem of colossus/BD souls Substitutable Gems: Cracked Colo/Chipped Colo/Fengs Def (Prefer Colossus)
boots:Az Dance/Gem of wind/BD heart Substitutable Gems: Cracked Wind/Chipped Wind/Bing's Dodging (Prefer Winds)
cap: red jade/yellow jade/chiatans aura
Best Possible Fairy:
lvl 30+ STR jr Substitutable Pet: Any first gen level 30+/Any Str 2nd gen level 30+
lv 30+ CON jr Substitutable Pet: Any first gen level 30+/Any Con 2nd gen level 30+
Quote:
Mordo Jr is the best possible 2nd gen pet, in that it doubles all stats when you poss + you get double exp + increased drop rate. The thing about 2nd gen fairies though, is that you should be able to afford the skill "Possession" if you want them to be useful. If you cannot afford the skill "Possession", stick to a high level 1st gen pet. We want the best equips possible, so save as much money as you can. Prioritize the most important things you'll need first before anything. Meaning don't forge BD eyes or Glares right away until you forge the rest of the "weaker" gems enough to equal the price of forging a lvl 1 Azreal or BD gem. Always go with the cheaper gems to forge before forging the more expensive gems to forge. I don't know how else to explain it, but this should be logical.

Quote: Simply the difference in both builds is the difficulty of use. Easy (Slasher) vs. Complicated (Complicated). Weaker (Slasher) vs. Stronger (Berserker). It all depends in your playing style. I would definitely prefer the slasher any day just because of the ease of use, not having to berserk before a kill. Being a Slasher in my opinion, gives you unlimited strategies to work with. Berserker is limited to few strategies because of having to berserk before a kill. Flash Bombs can really be your friend as a Berserker, and even as a Slasher. Always be patient. Remember, Speed is Key. Remember, against multiple enemies, you run in, slash, and run back to stealth. You should always aim your enemies in order of "One-Hitability", meaning in order from easiest to one hit, to hardest. Rebirth is very helpful for Crusaders in that they obtain the "Revealing" skill known as "Ethereal Slash". This skill allows you unstealth multiple hidden enemies in it's Area of Effect (AoE). |
Key Goals:
1. Obtain as much Attack power as possible (STR)
2. Obtain either 171 ASPD to be a zerker or 210 aspd passive to be a slasher.
3. Obtain a FORK.
4. Avoid being 1 Slashed by other Crusaders.
Purpose of Fork:
Quote: "Fusing one of your swords to a barborossa's fork will give you the effect of having maxed dual sword mastery no matter the level your dual sword mastery currently is. At the least, you will only need level 2 dual sword mastery while using fork. This saves you 8 skill points, which you could add towards shadow slash in order to max it at an early level. If you didn't know what dual sword mastery does, well first off, it's a passive skill. Originally, without maxed dual sword mastery, your left hand weapon's attack is actually lower than what it says. Now when you max dual sword mastery, the attack of your left hand weapon will be at 100% (equal to what it says on the weapon). Maxing Dual Sword Mastery while using a fork will not increase your attack. It's (Damage) still the same as having maxed Dual Sword mastery, or having level 2 Dual Sword Mastery with a fork." |
Best Possible Skill Build: lv 2 concentration lv 3 sword mastery lv 5 berserk Max illusion slash lv 2 dual sword mastery Without Fork:Max Dual Sword Mastery Max blood frenzy lv 3 deftness lv 1 stealth Max shadow slash Without Fork:lv 2 Shadow Slash |
Quote: You see, there's a clear disadvantage without a fork. You could either have maxed shadow slash (stun)w/ fork or lv 2 shadow slash (without fork). If the fork isn't in your budget, then follow the "without fork" build. |

Quote: I don't recommend using CA claw, as it has terrible hit rate. I don't recommend Any other boots other than Kylin or CA paw because speed is very important in pk, especially in a maze as pk involved as Dark Swamp. |
